The Township of Brudenell-Lyndoch and Raglan (BLR) won’t wait for the fall municipal elections to fill its vacant council seats.

The Municipality is accepting applications to fill the two vacant seats for Ward 2. BLR staff say they are looking for progressive individuals who are willing to help “rebuild and rebrand” the Township. They want candidates who will help modernize the municipality and improve efficiency.

In a meeting on January 19th, Council voted that two seats held by Councillors Andrea Budarick and Trevor Lidtkie be declared vacant. The move came after Councilor Budrick’s appeal against removing her from her seat in October was dismissed by an Ottawa Provisional Court. Councillor Lidtkie opted to resign his seat.

To apply for the council seat, call the Township at 613-758-2061, or visit their offices at 42 Burnt Bridge Road in Palmer Rapids. Deadline to submit to the Clerk is March 11th, with interviews being held on March 16th
