The number of people getting vaccinated weekly against COVID-19 in Renfrew County has dropped, according to the County.

The Health Committee says several clinic dates have been canceled, including one in Barry’s Bay on Wednesday. Clinics in the county’s major population centers have now been reduced to once a week, allowing more vaccines to be used in retirement homes and schools.

Nearly 89 per cent of people in the county have had either a second or third dose. However, 80 percent of people over 60 have had a third dose, with only 30 percent of the 18-39 age group receiving one.

As of Wednesday, there have been over 2300 cases of COVID-19 in Renfrew County and District, and 31 deaths.
