Staff is also reviewing an increase in garbage bag fees. As the price hasn’t been increased in years, staff would recommend that each tag will now cost $2 instead of $1.

In his report, Kutchkoskie points to the dramatic increase in the amount of trash going into Township landfills as the main reason to increase the bag tag rate. . He also says that compared to neighboring townships, the fees paid by residents of Madawaska Valley are very low.
