Health Unit tech issue causes vaccine appointment hiccups

The switch over to the province’s COVID-19 vaccine booking system has caused the health unit a few headaches.

The Renfrew County District Health Unit says any appointment booked through their old system for February will not be honored. The Health Unit says appointments for the month can only be booked through the province’s system. Renfrew County switched over to the provincial system last month.

In addition, only clinics in Pembroke and Deep River will accept appointments from the provincial booking system at this time. Walk-ins will be welcome for all other clinics, including Barry’s Bay, for anyone 12 years of age and older. The Health Unit says to check their website for all clinic times and locations.
