There will be some local stops to a convoy of truckers converging on Ottawa.

The “Freedom Convoy 2022,” a convoy of truckers from all across Canada protesting the federal vaccine mandate for truck drivers, is reaching its final destination in Ottawa on Saturday. The Convoy, organized by Canada Unity, will be making stops at Pembroke and Arnprior on January 28th, according to their website. They plan to start the trip from Sault Ste. Marie, and will travel along Highway 17.

The first stop will be at the truck stop on Paul Martin Drive in Pembroke. They plan to arrive at 4:30 PM and depart at 5 PM.

The second stop will be at the Antrim Truck Stop in Arnprior. They plan to arrive at 6 PM and it is the last stop of the day for the convoy. They will depart for Ottawa the next day at 11 AM.

All times are an estimation of where the convoy will be.

The Canadian Trucking Alliance is denouncing the protest, saying drivers should be complying with public health requirements. It adds the vast majority of truckers are vaccinated in line with levels seen in the general public.
