Madawaska Valley and Renfrew County are under a winter storm warning along with parts of southern and southeastern Ontario.

Environment Canada is warning winter storm conditions will begin Sunday night and could bring with it up to 25 centimetres of snow.  The weather agency says snow could fall at a rate of two to four centimetres an hour which could significantly reduce visibility on the roads.  There is also the risk of blowing snow with wind gusts of up to 60 kilometres an hour.

The storm is expected to continue through Monday evening.

Environment Canada is advising everyone to postpone non-essential travel until conditions improve as roads will become difficult to navigate in heavy snow conditions.
