Madawaska Valley Council looking to install washrooms at Watertower Park

There could be public washrooms soon in downtown Barry’s Bay.

Madawaska Valley Council has voted to pursue a My Main Street grant to construct a number of projects in the township. One of the main projects would be the installation of a prefabricated washroom unit at Watertower Park. The exact location of the washrooms has yet to be decided.

In addition to the bathrooms, the grant would also work to install lighting and signage across the township. Hannah Gutoskie, the Recreation and Community Development Coordinator, says the costs of these new installations would be offset by the grant money.

My Main Street is a joint venture between the Economic Developers Council of Ontario and the Canadian Urban Institute aimed at revitalizing neighbourhood main streets across southern Ontario.
