It’s the first game on the books for a Cobden native’s NHL career.

Jack Quinn made his first appearance as a Buffalo Sabre on Tuesday night. The rookie logged three shots on the net and spent over 16 minutes on the ice. However, the Sabres fell to the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-1 in his debut game.

In comments to reporters after the game, Quinn said most of the nervousness went away after the first shift. While he enjoyed his debut as much as possible, he says he will be more comfortable and focused in his next game.

Quinn was the Sabre’s first-round draft pick and is signed for three years with an entry-level contract. In the 2019-2020 season in the Ontario Hockey League, Quinn was able to score 52 goals in 62 games for the Ottawa 67s.
