The local Catholic College has raised a large sum of money to keep going.
Our Lady Seat of Wisdom College in Barry’s Bay has announced that, as a result of their Christmas fundraising campaign, they have raised $112,087. They say it breaks their fundraising goal by 10 percent and will be used to pay for the upkeep of the college. The total improves on the $75,000 raised last year.
Interm College President Christine Schintgen calls the news encouraging. She also says it’s good news for Barry’s Bay and area, as they contribute $2.3 million to the local economy according to the Renfrew County Economic Development Division.

More fundraising is planned by the college in 2022 to raise another $225,000 to meet their budget.
