Thousands still without power across the region

Over a day after winds swept the region, Hydro One is still struggling to get some areas back online.

Hydro One still reports some 10,000 customers are without power across North Hastings and Renfrew County. While some repairs are expected to be completed by 4:30 this afternoon, some people won’t see power come back on until December 14th or later.

Hydro One is urging residents to stay clear of any fallen power lines they may come across. They say to stay 10 meters away from lines, even if they don’t appear to be live. Hydro outages should be reported to them at 1-800-434-1235.
