After a pause due to COVID, we are helping out the Madawaska Valley Food Bank again this year.

Moose FM will be on location at the Barry’s Bay Santa Claus Parade on Sunday collecting donations for the food bank. President of the food bank Paul Thompson says they will enjoy the higher profile that Moose FM will bring to their presence on site.

Food bank volunteers will be walking in the parade with wagons to collect donations. Thompson says that they can also take e-transfers using the email [email protected].

The need for the food bank has doubled in Madawaska Valley since the pandemic began, according to Thompson. He says the main reason for this has been the increase in food prices. Not only has there been an increase in new families coming to the bank, but also families have returned to the food bank that had used it in the past. Despite the increase in use, Thompson credits their ability to meet the demand to the tremendous support of the community.

Moose FM will be on location for the parade in front of Stedmans. The Santa Claus Parade starts at 2 PM.
