A local ski lodge has won the Warden’s Community Service Award.

The Opeongo Hills Nordic Ski Club has won in the not-for-profit category this year. Chris Hinsperger, a former president of the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association, nominated the club due to its role in the community and economic development in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan. He says since the club was established in 2011, they have enriched the lives of hundreds of skiers and volunteers.

In the category of individual, the Warden’s Community Service Award went to Pembroke Library CEO Karthi Rajamani. Warden Debbie Robinson congratulated both winners, and said that “they exemplify what it means to be community-minded.”
