Local MP Cheryl Gallant’s recent visit to NORAD is making headlines for the wrong reasons.
Gallant is the Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on National Defence and was visiting the Colorado site for a study on the Canadian NORAD Region and aerial readiness.
According to the Ottawa Citizen, Gallant questioned the Royal Canadian Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Michael Hood about the importance of Canada’s fifth-generation stealth fighters as part of the commitment to NORAD.
Hood had to gently remind her that Canada does not have a fifth-generation stealth fighter.
