You may notice a reduction in speed limits on Highway 62 in Barry’s Bay.
The County of Renfrew Operation’s Committee is recommending that County Council reduce the speed limit on the road between Lakeshore Drive and 500 meters south of Blueberry Point Lane. The speed will be reduced from 80 km/h to 70 km/h.
The County moved to change the speed limit after a request from Madawaska Valley Township. The County says the change is in part due to more permanent residences around Blueberry Road and the shape of the highway in that location.
The motion will now go to County Council for a vote.
