The flu shot is now available for anyone over six months of age, and one of the first clinics in Renfrew County is in Barry’s Bay.

The drop-in clinic is happening on Wednesday, November 10th at the Barry’s Bay Legion. It is open to the general public from 2 PM until 4 PM. In addition, rostered patients of some members of the Madawaska Valley Family Health Team can get the shot from 1 PM until 4 PM. These include patients of Doctors Chen, Dawes, Malinowski, Meeking and Ostrapowics.

While no business in Barry’s Bay is offering vaccines, both the Whitney Pharmacy and the PharmaSave in Golden Lake are offering shots. Both the Health Unit and those pharmacies will be offering flu shots through the month of November and beyond. They encourage people to be vaccinated at the place most convenient to them.

The Health Unit is using an online portal on its website for people to book their flu shots, and are encouraging residents to use it. Those who can’t call them at 613-732-3629 ext. 509.
