The Madawaska Valley Fire Department now has a brand new truck to add to its fleet.

To wrap up Fire Safety Week, the Township purchased a new 2021 pumper truck to replace an older 1989 version. The department says that it was purchased from Carrier Emergency Vehicles in Brantford for around $386,000. It was built by MetalFab Fire Trucks of New Brunswick.

The truck is expected to be in service for the next 30 years.
