Nominations are open for the Warden’s Community Service Awards, which aim to highlight businesses, individuals and organizations that do good in the community.

County staff say there are three awards up for grabs. The award for individuals will be awarded to those who are looking for ways to improve the quality of life for those in the county. They are those who participate in organizing in the community, mentoring or inspiring youth, or celebrating culture and heritage.

The for-profit business award category aims to highlight businesses that sponsor teams, groups, charities or contribute to arts and cultures. The County is looking for those who contribute a lot to community well-being.

Finally, the not-for-profit business award is looking to honour the community groups that offer services for those in need.

Deadline for submissions is Friday, November 5th. After that, a selection review committee will select this year’s winners and present them at County Council on November 24th. Those who wish to nominate an individual or group can visit the County of Renfrew website, or call 613-735-7288.
