Whooping Cough Reported In Hastings

The Hastings and Prince Edward Public Health unit says there have been cases of the whooping cough at Birds Creek Public School.
One case of the whooping cough was reported at a school in the Bancroft are as of April 29th.
Since then, there has been another probable case identified, and three more individuals are under investigation.
Parents of 65 at risk students were contacted, with 33 being vaccinated during a special immunization clinic.
There are less than ten students not allowed to attend school until they receive their immunizations or the incubation period is over.
