The Renfrew County District School Board has launched an in-house charitable foundation called the Student Support Fund.
The mission of the fund is to provide opportunities to students across the county by reducing barriers to education and providing financial support.
The initiative was announced last week on the school board website.
A committee is being set up that will include board staff and community members as well as a minimum of one elementary and one secondary principal or vice principal.
Donations will be used to provide mini grants that the schools will distribute to students.
