Bonnechere Valley wants the County’s help to get drivers to slow down on Foymount Road.

The Township wants to reduce the speed limit on County Road 512 around Miller Road. The seven-kilometre stretch reaching civic address 3467 will see speeds reduced to 60 km/hr.

If approved, the reduced speeds will be temporary, as that section of the road will be worked on, over the next two years. After construction is done, the speed limit will go back up to 80.

The move comes as a number of collisions have happened on the road this year. In August, a collision killed a resident of Bonnechere Valley and injured two children.

Renfrew County is currently reviewing the request.
