Election candidates finalized for Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke

The election is two weeks away, and the candidates running in Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke are set.

Five candidates will look to take on Conservative Cheryl Gallant. Gallant has been the Member of Parliament for the riding since 2000 and won the last election with 52 percent of the votes.

The Liberal Party of Canada has fielded Cyndi Mills as their candidate. She is the owner and operator of a magazine for military families and has served on committees throughout the area.

Lawyer Jodie Primeau is the candidate for the New Democratic Party. She is the owner of a law firm in Deep River.

David Ainsworth has been selected to run as the candidate for the People’s Party of Canada. The Renfrew County businessman ran for the People’s Party in 2019.

Michael LaRiviere is running for the Green Party of Canada in the riding. LaRiviere is a former pilot and a resident of Cobden.

Stefan Klietsch is running as an Independent Candidate in the riding. The resident of Renfrew ran for the Libertarian Party in 2019 but has since changed his party affiliation.

Moose FM will be interviewing each of the candidates and bringing you their stances major issues in the coming days. Election day is September 20th.
