If you need to get a criminal record check for a volunteer position, the OPP will be having a day where you can get one for free.

The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment is holding the event at their Pembroke detachment offices at 77 International Drive in Pembroke. They will hold them on Saturday, September 25th from 8 AM until 12 PM, and again from 1 PM and 4 PM. Applications are only open to those who live in the UOV OPP detachment area.

There is no fee for those who want a criminal record check, but applicants must bring a few things with them. Along with a valid ID such as a driver’s licence, birth certificate, passport or outdoors card, those wishing for a record check must bring a hard copy letter confirming they are volunteering with an organization. Social Insurance Number cards or health cards will not be accepted as ID.
