Plans For Petawawa BLVD On Hold For Funding

The County of Renfrew is behind the plans to expand Petawawa Boulevard from Garrison Petawawa to Doran Road.
However, the project is depending on whether or not the county can get funding.
According to the Daily Observer, county council endorsed a recommendation by the operations committee to go ahead with the widening of the road from two lanes to four.
The cost of the project is estimated at $19 million.
County is hopeful that the federal and provincial governments will chip in since Garrison Petawawa is willing to apply to the Department of Defense for funding to supplement.
For that to happen though, DND would require match funding from the Ontario Communities Infrastructure Fund.
