Unsafe Bathing Signs return to Lakeshore Beach

For the second time this summer, the Renfrew County District Health Unit is urging swimmers to stay away from Lakeshore Beach in Barry’s Bay.

The Unit says due to high levels of bacteria, the water is unsafe for bathing. Contact with the water can pose an adverse effect on swimmer’s health. The Unit has not said what the beach has been contaminated with.

This is the second time the beach has been closed this summer. E-coli had been detected in the water around the beach in July.
