After what they call “a few faux-pas”, the staff at Bonnechere Provincial Park is urging people to treat their garbage facilities with respect.

Park staff is urging people to not over-stuff garbage into the fuller sides of their dumpsters. They say due to people overloading these dumpsters, the lids have not been able to close properly. They say this can lead to animals being attracted to waste sites.

In addition, due to issues with their compost bins, they are urging visitors to inform staff if they are having trouble accessing them. Workers have noticed that some visitors leave compost outside of the bin, which again can attract animals.

With numerous campsites and a small maintenance team, staff at the Park say these small changes in how visitors dispose of garbage helps tremendously.
