Second Degree Murder, Manslaughter charges laid in suspicious death investigation

Charges have been laid in an investigation into a suspicious death at a motel on Highway 60.

OPP received a call around 6:30 PM on Wednesday, July 21st. Police arrived to find a 40-year-old male with serious injuries. He was treated by Renfrew County Paramedics, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

As a result of the investigation, two males from North Algona Wilberforce have been charged. A 27-year-old has been charged with second-degree murder, while a 19-year-old has been charged with manslaughter. They were held for a bail hearing on Friday.

The investigation is ongoing.
