One of the oldest cottages in Petawawa has been destroyed by fire.
Firefighters were called out to Petawawa Point on Monday to get the fire under control, but were unable to save the building.
According to the Daily Observer, the owner was opening the cottage for the season and threw the switch for the electrical panel.
She called emergency services after seeing smoke and when she returned the cottage was already in flames.
Fire officials are still investigating the cause.
