Hazardous waste days are being planned for two townships this weekend

Madawaska Valley and Brudenelle-Lyndoch-Raglan townships will be holding a joint event on Saturday from 10 AM until 4 PM. It will take place at Yard 2 on 39844 Combermere Road (Highway 62).

Among accepted items are vehicle and garage products (Antifreeze, transmission fluid, batteries, etc), paints including staining and oil products, pesticides, aerosols, batteries, pharmaceuticals, and certain chemicals like bleach.

During the event, commercial and industrial waste will not be accepted. Radioactive materials, explosive materials such as ammunition and fireworks, as well as biological waste will not be taken. Old electronics and tires will not be accepted, as Operations Manager with Madawaska Valley Township Hilary Kutchkoski says that are accepted at the transfer at Bark Lake Waste Site instead.
