Madawaska Valley Public Library aiming for July 6th opening

The library in Barry’s Bay is set to open to the public.

Karen Filipkowski, CEO of the Madawaska Valley Public Library is scheduling an opening for July 6th. People will be able to come in and get their own items while following safety protocols. Safety protocols will include a 25 percent occupancy rate, mask-wearing and social distancing.

The Library will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-12 and 1-5. They will also be open on Thursday 1-4 PM and 5-8 PM. On Saturdays, it’s open 10-3.

The Library will continue its pickup services for people who want to reserve items in advance. Items can be reserved online, by phone or by email. The book sale room will also be open for browsing. Computer access will be provided by appointment.

Filipkowski also says they are hiring a part-time student who will take care of library duties and assist with programs.
