The rain over the weekend has allowed Madawaska Valley to ease some burn ban restrictions.

The Township will roll back to Level 1 restrictions effective Tuesday at 12:01 AM. Fire Chief Corwin Quade says the Township has received more rain than expected over the weekend, and as a result, the standard two-foot-by-two-foot campfire will be allowed.

The following are not allowed at this time in the Township:

-Burning of brush or brush/leave piles or other yard waste
-Burning of grass
-No fireworks
-No burning between 7 AM and 7 PM.
-All fire permits are suspended and none will be issued
