Water Rates On the Rise In Petawawa

Petawawa is the latest community to announce rising water and waste water fees.
The town’s council-in-committee recommended the increase for the budget expected in May.
The flat rate for water will be going up 5.5 per-cent while wastewater will be going up almost eight per-cent.
Water rates will be up 15 dollars from last year to almost 270 dollars and wastewater rises almost 26 dollars to almost 420 dollars.
The increase is being put towards upgrades and maintenance of the systems as well as preparation for the future.
