The SPCA fundraiser encouraging people to get active is back online for another year.

Renfrew County SPCA is holding Sweat for Pets again, a virtual fundraiser that will go towards the upkeep of animals at the shelter. Heather Jobe, Community Development Coordinator for the Renfrew County SPCA, says any level of activity, from full runs to simple walks, is all that’s required to raise money. You can sign up as an individual or a team, and you can ask friends or family to help you to your fundraising goal. Prizes are also available for the top fundraisers. After the past year, and with good weather on the way, Jobe says it’s a great way to spend time with your animals or kids as well.

The money raised will go directly towards helping the animals in the SPCA shelter. Jobe says even just pledging a dollar a day for all 31 days of the fundraiser will help immensely with getting animals the things they need to find their forever home. Money will go to getting cats and dogs their vaccinations, getting them spayed and neutered, microchipped and dewormed. Money will also go to the foster program, which will help buy the supplies foster parents need to get the animals ready to go to a new home. With the kitten population booming this time of year, Jobe says every dollar helps.
