Hastings Highlands residents will get a say on the new Exotic Animal Bylaw.

Mayor Tracy Hagar stressed that the municipality wanted to make sure stakeholders will have an opportunity to provide feedback. She said it is important that stakeholders appreciate the scope of municipal decisions and the importance of public participation in passing the bylaw.

The Municipality will hold a first reading of the draft bylaw on June 16th, 2021. During that time, council will decide how and when the public can provide input for the bylaw. They will also decide on a schedule for when to meet next to discuss the bill.
