It’s a new year and a new location for the first Barry’s Bay Farmer’s Market of 2021.

From the new location at the Barry’s Bay Legion, they will be set up every Friday from 11 AM until 4 PM until October 8th. The new location allows for parking at the Legion and at last year’s Stafford Street location.

Jonathan De Groot, Market Manager, says everything is good to go after getting confirmation from the Health Unit. However, because of public health rules, they can only sell food and food products at this time. De Groot hopes all vendors can return in a few weeks, similar to how it worked last year. He’s also feeling pretty good about the new location at the Legion, as it allows for lots of parking and is a very open space. They’ve also teamed up with the Legion, who will be running a barbeque fundraiser alongside the Market.

Safety is top of mind for De Groot as well. This year all vendors will require to wear a mask, and he is asking customers to wear masks too. Booths will be spaced apart to allow for social distancing and asks people to do their social distancing as well.
