Barry’s Bay BIA cancels Bay Day 2021

Bay Day will not be happening for another year.

Barry’s Bay BIA President Derek Yuill said the decision was made for the safety of the community and to make sure COVID restrictions were followed. He says because of the sheer amount of time it takes to put the festival together, the decision had to be made. However, Yuille guarantees that Bay Day 2022 will be the biggest the town has ever seen.

However, the BIA still plans to hold events after COVID restrictions are lifted. With the success of last year’s Music at the Park, they hope to do something similar that will follow COVID protocols. Music at the Park saw local musicians play at Zurokowski Park in a physically distanced way.

Moose FM reached out for comment from Madawaska Valley Township, but was unavailable at the time of writing.
