The Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre is appealing to North Algona Wilberforce for financial assistance.
A delegation from the organization approached council at the last meeting to request money, although there was no amount specified.
A suggestion was raised to use some of the Healthy Kids Fund money.
The presentation pointed out that Shaw Woods is a facility with 14 kilometers of trails that are used by more than 2,000 members of the public each year.
An estimated 4,000 students from Renfrew County schools also use the area.
They finished by saying the centre also attracts tourists and visitors to the township.
