Killaloe OPP has been involved with a weapons incident that occurred on Highway 28.

Renfrew OPP says that two vehicles were involved in a firearms incident that occurred around 3 PM on April 17th in Addington Highlands. While the OPP do not report what happened, they say no one was injured in the incident. Police say the suspect vehicle then travelled northbound on Highway 41 and was spotted by officers around 3:30 PM. Killaloe and Renfrew OPP, along with the Renfrew Crime Unit, then conducted a traffic stop and arrested three individuals.

The suspects include a 61-year-old from Mississauga, a 26-year-old from Toronto and another 26-year-old from Barrie. All three suspects were charged with firearms offences, including possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm. The resident from Toronto was charged with operation while impaired, as well as operating while prohibited. The Barrie resident was charged with careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

The residents from Mississauga and Toronto were released and are scheduled to appear in court in May. The resident from Barrie was held pending a bail hearing.
