The South of 60 Arts Centre/Railway Station is celebrating a record number of visitors this summer.

The Madawaska Valley is reporting that 8,294 people walked through the doors of the arts centre in July and August.  Visitors came from around the world, from Australia, Hong Kong and the Netherlands.

The township says the numbers are up from last year, likely due to highly successful events such as the Taste of the Valley festival in August.  The arts centre is a collaboration between the township’s staff and councillors, community volunteers as well as summer students.
