Lockdowns may delay the opening of the new Killaloe Fire Hall.

Fire Chief B. Robert P Garneau says the apparatus bay doors of the new station must be installed before they can move in. However, the company that will provide this service has been unable to operate consistently due to COVID. Paving must also be completed before the fire hall can open.

Garneau says they are looking at an opening date in the first or second week of May, although no exact date has been given. The new building has been called a team effort by Garneay, with the Mayor, Council, Asset Manager, Chief Building Officials all pitching in. Garneau also gave a nod to Greenview and Environmental Management and Wade General Contracting for their help, along with the fire team.
