Yakabuski Tackling Hydro Rates

Local MPP John Yakabuski is pushing for reform on hydro rates in Ontario.
Yakabuski pressed the Minister of Energy, Bob Chiarelli to do something about the rates increasing by 2.5 per-cent come May 1st.
Yakabuski says the rates are getting out of hand.

Yakabuski calls it a mismanagement of the electricity system, saying that under the Wynne Liberals, hydro rates have increased for Ontarions whether or not they have used more or less energy.
He credits the issues to ineffective energy conservation measures and unneeded new generation while selling surplus energy at a loss to neighbouring jurisdictions.
Chiarelli says he is working on undoing the increases.
