The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has put out a water safety statement for the Barry’s Bay and Pembroke area.

High flows, melting ice and other factors can make it dangerous for boaters, swimmers and anglers. They say to exercise caution on lakes and rivers and keep a close watch on children and pets. The ministry says that despite the rain, the extended spring melt means that the ministry does not expect there to be major flooding at this time.

Fire Cheif Corwin Quade once again says that while water levels will rise the rains, there is currently little risk of major flooding at this time.
