A 19-year-old Pembroke man has been sentenced to two years in prison for stealing a truck and leading police on a chase that ended in Ottawa.
Zachary Wittke was also served a lifetime driving ban as well as a 10 year weapons ban after pleading guilty to theft of a vehicle, uttering death threats, possession of a weapon, as well as many other related charges.
Wittke posted a video to social media challenging police to come after him while he was driving to Ottawa in the stolen truck.
In the video he threatens to kill a police officer if he is chased.
Killaloe OPP was notified of the video and later found the stolen truck on Highway 17 and March Road.
Meanwhile, police in Ottawa cornered Wittke in a Chapters bathroom and arrested him after a brief standoff.
Wittke is facing an additional two years of probation once he is out of prison.
