Now that spring is finally here, encounters with bears coming out of hibernation is becoming a concern for officials.
Jolanta Kowalski with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says you need to practice caution when encountering all wildlife.

She goes on to say that accidental or intentional feeding of wildlife can make them lose fear of people which never ends well for the animals.
She says to only put out your garbage the night before pickup and to empty birdfeeders during the summer months so they don’t attract bears into residential areas.
