Madawaska Valley received its first Spring Freshet report this morning, and it was filled with good news.

Fire Chief Corwin Quad says there are no flooding concerns at this time, or in the foreseeable future. Water levels are currently average or below average for this time of year, with Bark Lake being drawn down to its lowest level.

Both Kamineskege Lake and the Madawaska river are not expected to see any major changes over the next week.
