The Rural Mayors Forum of Eastern Ontario is looking into why some municipalities fail to receive infrastructure funding, while others consistently succeed.
This year, only one of 14 communities had a successful bid for funding from the Ontario Community Infrastructure Funding program.
Communities are assessed on current and future health, if it is a safety issue, and the economic situation within the municipality.
According to a press release by the forum, the rejection letters do not specify why certain communities are refused.
RMFEO members have submitted requests to clarify why they were not successful so they can improve future submissions.
