The Special Investigation Unit is now involved in the case of a four-year-old girl abducted from her home in Aurora.
The OPP says Julia Dela Cruz was found safe, just south of Pembroke on Highway 41, after the vehicle she was in was involved in a single vehicle collision.
The York Region Police issued an amber alert yesterday morning, after the girl was allegedly abducted by her father, 35-year-old Mario Rodrigues.
OPP sergeant Christine Rae says the man driving was arrested at the scene.
Rae says the OPP will continue a parallel investigation.
There were reports of the suspect vehicle driving aggressively at high speeds yesterday.
Police from the Bancroft area tried to stop the vehicle, but discontinued when it did not pull over.
Anyone with information is being asked to call the OPP.
No further information is being released at this time.
