PRH Under Fire From Union For Contracting Out Services

A union poll has shown that almost 90 per-cent of respondents are against the Pembroke Regional Hospital contracting out sterilization services.
The survey was done over the phone with 420 people answering.
According to CUPE President Michael Hurley, PRH signed a five year contract with SteriPro which has a poor track record of service.

Three other large hospitals in the Toronto area had recently ended their relationships with the company due to the quality control issues.
The union is requesting that the hospital bring the sterilization services back in-house.
A call out to the hospital for comment was not returned.
