Resident at Miramichi Lodge Tests Positive for COVID-19

A resident at a county-run long-term care home has tested positive for COVID-19.

The County of Renfrew says the case was detected at Miramichi Lodge after the resident had come in close contact with someone who had tested positive for the virus. The resident, who lives in Home Area 3A, has been isolating at home.

The Lodge is currently testing all residents and employees and general visits are now suspended. They say essential caregivers are still permitted to visit, at one per resident per visit.

Director of Long Term Care at the Lodge Shelley Sheedy, says that the safety of residents and staff is top priority and that they are following provincial guidelines so that everyone can remain safe.
