The Special Investigation Unit is now involved in the case of a four-year-old girl abducted from her home in Aurora.

The OPP says Julia Dela Cruz was found safe, just south Pembroke on Highway 41, after the vehicle she was in was involved in a single vehicle collision.

The York Region Police issued an amber alert earlier this morning, after the girl was allegedly abducted by her father, 35-year-old Mario Rodrigues.

OPP sergeant Christine Rae says the man driving was arrested at the scene.

Rae says the OPP will continue a parallel investigation.

Earlier this morning, there were reports of the suspect vehicle driving aggressively at high speeds.

Police from the Bancroft area tried to stop the vehicle, but discontinued when it did not pull over.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the OPP.

No further information is being released at this time.
