And the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation says that you can still make a donation in memory of a loved one.

The Foundation is taking In-memorandum Donations that help to fund local healthcare. Executive Director Erin Geinow says with COVID protocols, in-memorandum fundraising has been difficult, but funeral homes across the area continue to be supportive despite COVID-19 shutdowns.

This year the Foundation is highlighting a number of those who have passed and have left donations in their will to support local healthcare. These people include Brian C. Hollands, Bill Weatherbed, Shirley Weir, and the late owner of the Ash Grove Inn, Gordon Pratt.

The Foundation still accepts donations via mail or online. Donations will go to support the Valley Mannor, the St. Francis Memorial Hospital, and Madawaska Valley Hospice.
